Deactivate and reactivate a user

  • Only admins or managers can display and use these user management functionalities. See Permissions.

  • But you can not apply these user management functionalities to users with the user role admin. Contact our support if you want to apply user management functionalities to admin users.

You can deactivate a user if you do not want them to have access to mc Cloud and your organization’s meteocontrol applications for a while. This could be the case if this user is temporarily unavailable, but will be again later, for example, in case of parental leave. When the user returns, you can reactivate the account.

Prerequisites

  • User role admin or user manager.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Users page. To get there, you have two options:

    • Select your avatar in the tool bar, then select Users.

    • Or select All users in the footer of the Recent sign-ins widget on your dashboard.

  1. Depending on the current status of the user, you can either deactivate or activate the user:

    1. Deactivate a user: Deactivate an active user. The access to mc Cloud and the meteocontrol applications is restricted immediately and no notification mail will be sent out to the user. The status of the account will switch to DEACTIVATED on the Users page. See Users page status.

    2. Activate a user: Reactivate a deactivated user. The user can access the mc Cloud account and the selected meteocontrol applications immediately again and no notification mail will be sent out. The status of the account will switch to ACTIVE on the Users page. See Users page status.
