Add a battery to an existing system

Simply connect the battery on site and all battery data will be imported automatically.

Prerequisites

You set up a system, including its data logger/data source. See Set up a new system and Data sources / data logger.

Steps

Connect your battery on site.

All available battery data is now imported automatically into VCOM and your battery device appears in the Other devices overview. See Other devices.

Further actions

Visualize basic battery data.
Set up battery alarms
Analysis: display measured values from batteries.
Reports: display battery-related charts.
Battery monitoring only Create a subsystem for your battery inverters and add the information which inverters belong to which battery unit. See Add a battery as subsystem and Assign a battery unit to a battery inverter input.

Note

If you want to add a stand-alone battery to VCOM, you also must set up a main system, including a data logger/data source, and add the battery as a subsystem.
