About power control settings
The Power control settings allow you to configure settings related to power control and curtailments. These settings are reflected in relevant calculations and charts.
Configure a master device
You can set one power plant controller (PPC device) as the master device. This means that the setpoints of this device are used for calculations.
Prerequisites
More than one PPC device for the system is available in VCOM.
Steps
Go to
System configuration > Calculations > Power control.
Under Master device, select the PPC device that should have priority. The Data overview table provides an overview of the available data points and can help you identify which device to use as the Master device.
The setpoints of this device will now be used for relevant calculations.
Configure the maximum setpoint
Only values below the maximum setpoint will be considered curtailment events and considered in calculations.
Prerequisites
At least one PPC device for the system is available in VCOM.
Steps
Go to
System configuration > Calculations > Power control.
Under Maximum setpoint, enter the desired value as a percentage.
This maximum setpoint will now be considered in calculations.
Example
A system is curtailed at 90% by default. An O&M Manager wants to exclude curtailments above 90% from calculations to reflect reality (e.g. in the Yield loss calculation).
The maximum setpoint is set to 90%.
All curtailments of 90% and above will not be considered curtailment events in calculations.
Only curtailment events in which the setpoint is below 90% will now be considered in calculations.
