User-defined comparison alarms

Last modified:

User-defined comparison alarms allow you to dynamically compare two or more data points. See also Available data points and categories. If there is a deviation, an alarm will be triggered. Like the user-defined static alarms, you choose which devices and measured values are monitored.

Set up user-defined comparison alarms

Prerequisites
  • At least one device is connected to your system.

Steps
  1. At SYSTEM LEVEL , select the icon-wrench1.png System settings > icon-bell2(1).png Alarms > User-defined alarms > Measurement alarm tab.

  2. Select Comparison alarm > Create.

  3. Under Type, select a device type.

    • Alternatively, select Sensoric/Calculated to use values calculated using Terms.

    • The additional settings that appear will depend on the values you wish to monitor.

  4. Select Continue.

  5. Give the alarm a title, assign a severity, and (optional) description.

  6. Select icon-floppy-disk1.png Save.

The alarm will appear in the User-defined alarms overview.

Example

Create a comparison alarm to compare 3 inverters with each other to check for anomalies:

  • Device type: Inverter

  • Data point: Current_I_AC

  • 5% deviation from the mean value of these inverters will trigger an alarm

  • Null values will be excluded from the comparison.

  • The alarm will only be triggered between sunrise and sunset if the incident persists beyond 30 minutes.
