Create a user-defined user group

Last modified:

Create your own user groups to grant rights according to your needs.

Prerequisites

  • Service level PREMIUM PARTNER

  • You belong to the user group administrator. See also User groups.

Steps

  1. At PORTFOLIO LEVEL, go to icon-cog1(1).png Administration > icon-user1.png Users > User groups. You arrive at the user groups overview.

  2. Give your user group a name and a Description if desired.

  3. Choose a level for the Administration access. All available levels in the dropdown correspond to the administration rights of one of the VCOM standard user groups. Refer to Administration access levels for detailed rights.

    • All settings: Corresponds to standard user group Operations.

    • System and data logger settings: Corresponds to standard user group Technician.

    • System settings: Corresponds to standard user group Technical customer.

    • System information: Corresponds to standard user group Customer.

    • No administration rights: Corresponds to standard user group Investor.

Note

You can not create a user-defined user group with an administration access level that corresponds with the standard user group Administrator. All users that should get this level must be added to the standard user group.

  1. Optional: Under Users in this group, tick the checkboxes for the users you want to assign to this group. If you did not yet create the respective users, you can do this step later.

  2. Allow or Deny the Privileges for the listed user group Modules. Refer to User group modules and privileges for detailed information about every module.

Note

You can not restrict rights for the license-based VCOM modules KPI editor or Automation.

  1. Select Save.

The user group is now created and appears in the user groups overview.

Further actions

  • Select icon-pencil1.png Edit to change the rights of a user group and for all users in it.

  • Select icon-cross1.png Delete to remove a user group permanently. All users will be unassigned from it and lose their respective rights.

Caution

If you delete a user group without assigning the included users to another user group, these users can not access VCOM anymore.
