About USB recovery

USB recovery allows you to recover lost data using a USB drive. It is necessary if the blue'Log no longer works properly or starts. USB recovery is only possible for blue'Log X-1000 / X-3000 / X-6000. If your blue'Log still does not work correctly after a USB recovery, contact Support.

Warning

All data and settings will be erased from the blue’Log during USB recovery!

Perform USB recovery

Prerequisites
  • USB stick

  • Windows PC to prepare the USB stick

  • You have read this article 

  • You have downloaded the USB recovery package(s)

Steps
  1. On your PC, format your USB stick to the FAT32 file format

  2. Copy the IMG file and the MD5 file to the root directory of your USB stick. No further IMG files may be present there.

  3. Insert the USB stick in the USB slot.

  4. Press and hold the ⬆️ Up button on the control pad and restart the blue'Log. For this, press the reset button or briefly disconnect and reconnect the voltage until the LEDs next to the display light up from top to bottom.

  5. While the LEDs light up from top to bottom, release the ⬆️ Up button.

  6. Press and hold the ⬇️ Down button on the control pad until the display backlight changes to red.

  7. Wait until you are prompted to press OK on the display. Then press OK.

  8. Wait until the "red phase" has been processed and the blue'Log restarts. Do not restart or switch off the device during this time!

  9. Wait until the "green phase" has been processed and the blue'Log restarts. Do not restart or switch off the device during this time!

  10. Check the firmware version.

  11. Your blue’Log is now recovered and can be reconfigured.

Note

  • Firmware versions below 1.7.6: Perform the USB recovery in this order: V. 1.7.5, V. 1.7.6, V.1.8.9

  • Firmware versions above 1.7.6: Perform the USB recovery with V 1.8.9
