Reports and report templates

Configure report templates and create reports for a specific asset.

Creating reports is a recurring task for financial asset managers. With mc Assetpilot, simply create reports based on the already existing content and structure of your asset’s dashboard.

Views of the reports domain

Enter the reports domain in platform view, by selecting the dedicated domain tab for image-20250606-081535.png Reports at every organization level. Display your report templates and reports in two views: overview and quick view.

Overview

In the overview, you see a list of all report templates.

Quick view

Select a report template in the overview to display a quick view of its details in a side panel and find the corresponding reports there.

View and download all reports that were already created from the template.

You also find all reports in the Documents domain.

Workflow for new reports

Note

  • Reports are based on the content and structure of dashboard templates.

  • Reports are always created on the organization level you want to report about.

The initial workflow for creating a new report is as follows:

  1. Create a report template once to define the general content and structure for the report.

  2. Create reports repeatedly from the template specifying the exact reporting period.

1. Create a report template

Prerequisites
  • You have created at least one production asset.

Steps
  1. In platform view, select the desired organization level from the side bar.

Note

The report will aggregate the data of the selected organization level and all its sub-elements. It will not apply the scope (= aggregation settings) from the underlying dashboard template. See also Scope of a widget.

  1. Select the domain tab image-20250606-081535.png Reports.

  2. Select +New report template. A pop-up window appears.

  3. Enter a Name for the report template and add a Description if desired.

  4. Select the Dashboard template on which the content of your report should be based on.

Note

You will find the platform’s default and your custom dashboard templates in the dropdown. If you want to create an additional dashboard template to use it as basis for your reports, see Dashboard templates.

  1. Optionally assign Tags to the report template. See also Tags for optimized search.

  2. Select Create.

Your new report template appears in the list of report templates.

2. Create a report

Prerequisites
  • You created a report template on the desired organization level.

Steps
  1. In platform view, select the desired organization level from the side bar.

  2. Select the domain tab image-20250606-081535.png Reports. All available report templates for this organization level are listed.

  3. Select image-20250606-073239.png Create for the desired template. A pop-up window appears.

  4. Determine the period for which you want to create the report by selecting the Start date and End date.

  5. Select image-20250606-073239.png Create.

The new report appears…

  • …in the quick view of the corresponding report template.

  • …as report document in the Documents domain.

Manage existing reports and report templates

Delete a report template

Prerequisites
  • None

Steps
  1. In platform view, select the desired organization level from the side bar.

  2. Select the domain tab image-20250606-081535.png Reports. All available report templates for this organization level are listed.

  3. Hover over a template and select image-20250606-125546.png Delete.

  4. Confirm Delete template in the appearing pop-up window.

The report template disappears from the list of report templates.

Note

The reports you created from a report template will remain in the image-20250305-134728.png Documents domain after deleting the template.
