FAQs

Is mc Assetpilot only intended for solar PV systems?

mc Assetpilot is suitable for all systems that produce renewable energy, whether solar, wind, hydro or battery storage.

How does mc Assetpilot differentiate between asset types?

From a financial point of view, there is no need to differentiate between how energy is generated.

Can mc Assetpilot handle multiple currencies?

Of course.

How do multiple currencies work?

In the Organization settings, you can enter all relevant currencies and select the corresponding assets/systems that are operated with the currency in question.

For each calendar year, you can enter an exchange rate that is valid for the entire year. You can then apply the current exchange rate to all future years and update it later.

Exchange rates from previous years can only be changed by the owner.

Can mc Assetpilot reproduce complex financial models?

Yes, mc Assetpilot can map complex financial models. This means that you can enter an infinite number of parameters and define price progressions (e.g. inflation or degradation) We’ve struck a balance between flexibility and complexity, so that the system is not limited to predefined templates and all users can have unlimited options for creating structure.

Is there a limit to the parameters I can use in a financial model?

No. It makes no difference in mc Assetpilot whether you use 10 or 1000 parameters per financial model.

Why are financial models and forecasts handled separately?

In mc Assetpilot, the financial models are the basic framework for all of your calculations. We’ve designed the basic framework to be applicable for various systems, and made it possible to display different forecasts and scenarios for each system - including deviations in remuneration, operating costs or other parameters. This is why they’re separated.

Will I receive support in creating my financial model?

Of course, we’ll be glad to assist you in mapping your financial model.

Where do I enter the values for my parameters?

In mc Assetpilot, values are entered in the forecasts. Select the specific asset, go to the Forecasts tab and click on Add forecast. Once you’ve selected a financial model, you can enter your values. You only need to do this once.

Can I make annual deviations/adjustments?

Of course.

Can I define user roles?

Of course.

How do the user roles work?

Currently, we have predefined roles, which are divided between Admin, Member and Viewer roles. We are already working on freely selectable and definable roles.

Can I enable restricted access for external users?

Not yet. This feature is also already in the works.

Can I establish API connections with third-party providers?

This feature is also already on the roadmap for this year. If you want or need a specific connection (e.g. Asana, Outlook, CRM tools, etc.), please contact our sales team.

Can I integrate my systems from VCOM Cloud into mc Assetpilot?

Yes, this is already possible.

I don’t use VCOM. Can I connect my monitoring software to mc Assetpilot?

Just like the API connections with third-party providers, this is not yet possible. We're aiming to make it happen this year.

Are licenses billed per user?

No. Whether you have 1 or 500 user accounts, it’s the same price in mc Assetpilot.

How does billing work?

Solar and batteries are billed according to installed capacity. For wind and hydro, billing is based on standardized capacity.

How do the bank details work?

We use an API connection via FinAPI.

Is FinAPI trustworthy?

Give that FinAPI has received a license from BaFin, cooperates with SCHUFA, is TÜV certified and is also a German company - yes, FinAPI is trustworthy.

Is my data secure in mc Assetpilot?

Our servers are based in Augsburg and meet high security standards. You can find more information on this in our privacy policy: https://www.meteocontrol.com/kontakt/datenschutz.

In which language is mc Assetpilot available?

Currently in German and English.

How do I classify income and expenses?

In the settings you’ll find an overview of all categories that are already divided into income and expenses. You can supplement these and add your own categories.

Can I change the colors of the diagrams?

At the moment it is not possible to change the colors of the diagrams. If this is important to you, please get in touch with our sales team.

How does the billing model (for existing mc customers) work in mc Assetpilot?

There is an annual fee and this is billed quarterly, so you will be charged ¼ of the fee per quarter. This fee is staggered depending on the capacity you enter in Assetpilot.

Who do I contact if I need additional languages? In other words, which languages are in progress and which are planned?

You can either contact our sales team or send an email to assetpilot@meteocontrol.de. No other languages are planned at the moment because we want to wait for customer feedback.

How are updates to the solution implemented and communicated? Are these subject to a charge?

Updates are communicated directly in mc Assetpilot using our Beamer widget. This widget will display a notification each time an update is made. Click on it to get all information directly.

Updates are free of charge.

Who do I contact for support?

Please contact our support team at technics@meteocontrol.de.

Is it possible to log in with SSO / TFA?

This feature is already in the works.

Is there an app?

mc Assetpilot is responsive to your output medium and can therefore also be used on smartphones and tablets.

Do end customers of direct mc customers (partners) have access too?

Of course.

Can the tool be modified according to my corporate image?

So far, we have not seen a need for a white label solution. However, if you are interested, please contact our sales team or send an e-mail to assetpilot@meteocontrol.de.
