Active power: overview of functions
The blue’Log XC offers a comprehensive set of functions for active power management. These include advanced features designed to support grid stability and ensure compliance with grid codes. At the same time, the system enables energy management and facilitates the seamless integration of battery storage systems into modern energy systems.
The active power management functions are briefly described below. For details, see the individual article about each function.
Power limitation at grid connection point
Limits the active power feed-in and import at the grid connection point via dynamic closed-loop control.
Grid operator commands
Enables the grid operator to curtail power either at the grid connection point or directly at the level of generation.
Ramp rate limiter (with Hybrid EMS)
Controls the rate of change in active power output according to predefined ramp rates, e.g., in response to commands from grid operators or energy traders.
Energy trader commands (RPC license)
Allows energy traders to adjust the output of power-generating plants to optimize participation in various energy markets.
Frequency control P(f)
Automatically regulates active power in response to inadmissible frequency deviations, contributing to grid stability.
Energy management
Supports seamless and efficient integration of PV and battery systems, enabling optimized energy flows for the plant operator.
Fail-safe operation
Ensures continued operation of the controller in the event of a communication failure, such as loss of connection to the meter or the grid operator. In such cases, the system switches to a predefined, safe fallback mode to maintain basic control functionality.
