Troubleshooting: Automation is not carried out

Last modified:

If your automation does not execute as expected, check the following possible causes, depending on the automation type:

Automation type

Condition

How to verify & recommended action

All automations

The automation is not executed if the user who created it no longer has access to the system.

Check whether the automation creator has access to the system. Depending on your role, you can check this via:

Curtailment and alarm automations

If the affected system is shared with one or more partners and multiple automations are configured, the automation of the partner who owns the system takes precedence. Automations created by other partners are not executed.

Check with the person who shared the system with you. See Shared assets.

Curtailment automations only

The automation does not trigger if:

  • The curtailment started before the automation was created.

  • The automation was enabled after the curtailment started.

  • The system was added to the automation later.

  • Compare the automation creation date and start time of the curtailment.

  • Check when the automation was last updated and confirm with the automation creator or master admin whether they made any changes to the automation at the time of the curtailment.

Your system has multiple PPC devices, but neither is set as the master device.

Check your PPC devices and configure a master device if necessary. See PPC device.

Curtailment automations with Peak billing or Simplified Peak billing

A missing reference period prevents yield loss calculation.

Calculate the yield loss manually, see Yield loss calculation. If this fails, the automation will also fail, typically due to a missing reference period. If this occurs frequently, consider using a different calculation model.
