The KPI for a battery unit’s FCE/Fully cycle equivalent is calculated by the portal at daily intervals.
Definition
The FCE KPI normalizes a battery unit’s partial charging and discharging within a time interval into an equivalent number of cycles, providing a consistent number of battery utilization over time.
Formula
Which formula is used to calculate the FCE KPI depends on whether the battery provides an FCE lifetime value or not.
A) Battery does provide FCE lifetime value
Some batteries already provide the data point B_FCE_COUNT at every measuring interval. It reflects the lifetime FCE since commissioning of the system. If it is available, you can find it in the data point category Batteries.
If B_FCE_COUNT is available, its measuring interval values are aggregated to the FCE daily value—the KPI.
B) Battery does not provide FCE lifetime value
If the portal can not use the B_FCE_COUNT, it must first calculate FCE values for every measuring interval in order to aggregate them to the FCE daily value. To do so, it uses measuring interval values of the charged and discharged energy:

Further details and prerequisites
-
The KPI can only be used as daily or longer intervals. You can not display it in higher resolutions, like 15- or 1-minute intervals.
-
To perform the calculation, the data points
B_E_EXPandB_E_IMP(lifetime values per measuring interval) are used. If these are not provided,B_E_INT_EXPandB_E_INT_IMP(measuring interval values) are used. See Import specification (external link). -
You must configure the battery unit's nominal capacity in the portal. See Configure the battery units' operating parameters.
Usage
The FCE KPI can be used for the following functionalities:
-
User-defined charts and heatmaps. You can find the KPI in the data point category KPI.
Example
On 7th July, the unit Battery-Container 1 experienced a throughput equivalent to 2.91 complete charge-discharge cycles.
