The bluelog Neo has two Ethernet interfaces. You can configure the settings for each Ethernet in the web interface under Settings > Ethernet > Tab Ethernet 1 or Ethernet 2. The following settings are available:
DHCP
-
Toggle activated: The IP address is filled in via the network router.
Toggle deactivated: You must manually enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway.
DNS
-
Toggle activated: DNS address is automatically obtained.
-
Toggle deactivated: You must manually enter the primary and secondary DNS servers.
Proxy server
-
Toggle activated: You can manually configure a proxy server if one is present in the network. For this, enter the protocol, hostname, port, user name, and password.
-
Toggle deactivated: No proxy server is used.
-
VCOM USERS If a proxy server is enabled, remote access to the bluelog from VCOM (for example, via the Datalogger overview portlet) will not be possible.
MTU
-
Toggle activated: Uses the default MTU value of 1500 bytes.
-
Toggle deactivated: Allows manual adjustment. Change this value only if you have specialized network knowledge.
Hostname
-
The hostname allows access to the device’s user interface using a name instead of just the IP address.
-
The default hostname follows the format
blue-nnnnnnnn:-
Middle 4 digits of the hardware serial number, representing production week and year, e.g. 0525.
-
Last 4 digits of the serial number, representing the number of bluelogs produced in that production week.
-
-
If you want to change the hostname, consider the following:
-
Avahi is used to publish the hostname to the network. Ensure the Avahi toggle is activated.
-
Changing the hostname will impact an active SSL certificate.
-
The hostname cannot be changed if a power control master is enabled or if a Kaco device with update capability is connected.
-
Check IP configuration
-
Enter the IP address of the data logger in the browser address line. Alternatively, use the hostname of the device. This consists of the last 8 digits of the serial number.
