You can sync one bluelog Neo with a single VCOM system.
Plant name: Your VCOM system's name is automatically retrieved upon connection and can only be changed within VCOM.
Plant key: 5-digit VCOM system key. In VCOM, this is located under
Note
In bluelog, we generally refer to a plant, whereas in VCOM, the words system and asset are generally used with the same meaning.
Connect a bluelog to a VCOM system
Prerequisites
-
At least one system is set up in your VCOM account
Steps
-
Go to Plant > VCOM > Registration and enter your VCOM system key (=Plant key), your VCOM user name, and password.
-
Select Register. The system name will be retrieved from VCOM and appear under Plant name.
-
Select a transmission interval (5, 15, or 60 min) and select Save.
-
Verify that your bluelog is now connected to VCOM: Select Check connection. A green check mark will appear if the connection exists.
Your bluelog is connected to the VCOM system.
Remotely access the bluelog Neo web interface directly from VCOM Cloud
Once you have registered your meteocontrol data logger to a VCOM plant, you can remotely access the web interface directly from VCOM Cloud without any additional setup.
In VCOM, navigate to
You can also directly access the data logger in VCOM via the Data logger overview portlet.
Enable navigation to a remote device via VCOM
Some connected devices have their own web-based user interfaces and can be accessed remotely via VCOM. Refer to the Compatibility Check to verify if your device supports Remote device access.
Prerequisites
-
The device is compatible.
Steps
-
In bluelog Neo, set up the device, for example, under Devices > Meter > Add new meter.
-
The device IP address will appear under Installed devices.
-
Activate the Remote device access toggle under Plant > VCOM > Extended access. This option will only be visible if your device supports this feature.
You can now remotely connect from VCOM to bluelog Neo, navigate to the installed device, select the IP address of the device, and access the device.
Further actions
-
Export historical data: If data is missing in VCOM, specify the relevant dates under Historical data.
Example
You install a bluelog in your system, activate VCOM 6 months later, and want to retrieve the data from the past 6 months.
-
Cancel registration: Disconnect your bluelog from VCOM.
Example
You want to switch VCOM systems, or your bluelog is defective and must be replaced. Note that if your bluelog is currently offline, it will automatically disconnect from VCOM once it is back online.
Troubleshooting: Network communication
If the network communication is not working, perform these checks:
-
Device status
-
Check that the bottom LED is green. If the bottom LED is red, the internet connection is disrupted.
-
-
Check physical network connection
-
Ensure the data logger is connected to a router using an Ethernet cable.
-
-
Check IP configuration
-
Confirm that the network configuration is correct:
-
IP address
-
Subnet mask
-
Gateway address
-
DNS server
-
-
-
Check internet access
-
Confirm that the bluelog can access the internet via the configured network.
-
-
Check firewall settings
-
Ensure the firewall allows communication to the meteocontrol servers. See Ports and protocols.
-
Depending on the specific issue you have identified, perform this final check:
Issue A: Data transfer to VCOM fails
-
Verify VCOM Cloud export
-
Confirm that VCOM Cloud export is working. See Ports and protocols.
-
Issue B: bluelog Neo is displayed as offline in VCOM
-
Verify Portal tunnel
-
Confirm that Portal tunnel connection is working. See Ports and protocols.
-
Check IP configuration
-
Enter the IP address of the data logger in the browser address line. Alternatively, use the hostname of the device. This consists of the last 8 digits of the serial number.
