Reactive power (with Hybrid EMS)

Under Power control > Reactive power, you can configure parameters related to active power control.

Here is an overview of the user interface:

Item	Name	Details
1	Reactive power control toggle	Activate the toggle ONLY after you have fully configured your power control setup
2	Extended settings icon	System behavior, including controller sampling time (default value 500 ms), setpoint reference, and preferred source (see Parameter preferred source).
3	Basic settings	For each controller in your system the operation mode is displayed. The operation mode is not configurable and always runs in closed loop. Select the Extended settings icon next to each controller to set controller tuning options
4	Method switch	Toggle activated: Select from a method switch via digital input and method switch via Modbus and enter additional parameters. Toggle deactivated: Use the setpoint command method
5	Setpoint command method	Select relevant parameters from the dropdown for the setpoint command method and enter the values by selecting the Gear icon
6	Fail-safe operation	Configure fail-safe behavior in case of communication loss. See Fail-safe operation (with Hybrid EMS)
7	Ramp rate limiter	Configure ramp rate limiter. See Ramp rate limter (with Hybrid EMS)

Parameter preferred source

The parameter Preferred source can be selected in the user interface. You can choose PV or battery. The preferred source is the system that first tries to cover the required reactive power demand. If the preferred source alone is not capable of covering the reactive power demand, the second source is activated and provides support up to its maximum capabilities.
