What is Hybrid EMS?
Last modified:
The Hybrid Energy Management System (Hybrid EMS) from meteocontrol is specifically designed for scenarios combining PV production with battery storage or using standalone battery storage. The Hybrid EMS solution orchestrates the complex flow of energy within your system, ensuring seamless integration with a single grid connection point. The Hybrid EMS license is a software extension that enables your blue'Log XC to optimize your energy generation and consumption based on your needs and local grid connection requirements. See also Hybrid EMS data sheet.
Changes to the user interface with the Hybrid EMS license
The following areas of the user interface change when you update to the Hybrid EMS license:
The content of the previous menu Power control > Operating data is logically split between two menus with Hybrid EMS:
Plant data: electrical configurations for PV and/or battery
Controller operation: operating mode of your blue’Log (standalone, slave, master)
The Hybrid EMS comes with two controllers. One controller for PV and one controller for battery. Consequently, typical control parameters such as proportional gain, integral gain, dead zone, and correction value limits appear in two separate menus.
The features of the fail-safe operation (e.g. system fallback value, inverter failure detection, automatic grid disconnection) were previously hidden in extended menus. These features are now centralized and displayed on the main page in the Active power and Reactive power menus.
The Remote Power Control (RPC) license can now be activated on the main Active power page instead of in the extended controller parameterization.
